2011.05.17  Sam Choy at Draeger's
TAGS: sam choy, cooking, san mateo

If we had to pick a "favorite celebrity chef", the answer might just be Sam Choy.  He's a lot more famous in the Hawaiian Islands than he is even on the West Coast of the US, probably as a result of his cooking shows not being syndicated outside of Hawaii.

We make it a point to see him when he's in town each year, and Draeger's cooking school is a regular stop.  His classes are entertaining and his food is both good and grounded.

The food this time was a bit lighter than normal, one of the better menus.
